Frequently asked questions

Does it work with any shop?

Yes. Paste a link from any online shop and Wish Gift will try to fill in the name, picture and price. If a shop doesn’t allow that, you can type the details in yourself.

Can I see what has been claimed on my own list?

No, and that’s the point. Wish Gift hides claims from you, so your gifts stay a surprise right up until they’re unwrapped.

Do my friends need an account?

No. Anyone with your link can view your list and claim a gift. With a free account, they can also see everything they’ve claimed in one place.

Who can see my list?

Only people you send the link to. You can switch a list to private at any time, or reset the link so the old one stops working.

How do I delete my account?

Open “My account” at the bottom of any page while logged in. Deleting removes your account, lists and gifts for good, and the same email address can’t be used for a new account for 90 days.

Can I ask for more than one of something?

Yes. Set how many you’d like when you add a gift. Friends can each claim part of it, and it only shows as taken once all of them are spoken for.

Is Wish Gift free?

Yes. Creating an account, making lists and sharing them is free.

I forgot my password. What can I do?

Choose “Forgot your password?” on the log-in page and we’ll email you a link to set a new one.

Can I log in with Google or Apple?

Yes, when those buttons appear on the log-in page. If you already have an account with the same email address, it will be connected to your existing lists.

What happens if two people want the same gift?

Once someone claims a gift, everyone else sees it as already claimed, so it can’t be bought twice.

Can I change my mind about a gift I claimed?

Yes. Open the list and release the gift, and it becomes available again for someone else.

Could my gifts appear on the homepage?

Only if you turn that on for a list, and only after we’ve reviewed them. Just the gift’s name, picture, price and shop can appear, never your name or your list.
